When I was able to make my entire Crazy Salad Mix for the week (I use a BIG catering bowl), from the greens that we grew in our front yard garden, I was BEAMING!!! I vowed to eat every last leaf, even if they got soft…
BUT… They were SOOO fresh that they lasted 2 WEEKS!!! And that was already after I had chopped them. It really makes me wonder about the time between harvesting and purchasing greens (which typically only last ~ 1 week in my mix).
We grew several types of red lettuce…
Including red romaine…
Not only did the red leaf lettuce produce great heads, they also re-grew and produced another round!
I also used my gorgeous Purple Tree Collards! They are delectable raw and cooked!
